MITCHELL I. WEISBERG
Mitchell I. Weisberg is the Managing Director of Lumen, Inc. Mr. Weisberg focuses on identifying and deploying information technologies that transform companies for competitive advantage and increased profitability.
Mr. Weisberg has more than twenty years of information systems and business strategic planning experience, which includes consulting to senior executives on strategic planning, electronic commerce, marketing strategy, business process reengineering, customer relationship management, managing information systems organizations, effectively deploying information systems, change management and organizational design. Mr. Weisberg's strong metrics driven approach has proven valuable in demonstrating returns on investments for business initiatives. His focus on customer centric design has provided organizations with fuel for growth. Executives seek Mr. Weisberg's council and thought leadership on business and technology issues. He has worked with major clients (Fortune 500 and mid-sized organizations) in financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, utility, transportation and services industries, while developing his strong cross industry and international experience. Mr. Weisberg also has depth of experience in working with industries in transition from regulated to unregulated (privatized) markets or acquiring/divesting business units.
In previous positions Mr. Weisberg was President and CEO of BayPar.com, an Internet start-up; Principal of Symmetrix, where he led the Telecommunications Industry Practice; Director at Arthur D. Little, Inc., where he led the worldwide High Performance IT Organization Practice and managed clients in North and South America; Managing Director of the Australia/Asia Branch of Nolan, Norton & Co/KPMG where he managed the service delivery in Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Region. Mr. Weisberg was a Director of Strategic Planning at Motorola Inc. for the Information Systems Products Group where he managed the Quality Program, the Participatory Management Program, and the Technology Roadmap for this Motorola Group. In addition, Mr. Weisberg held a series of management positions at AT&T in consumer products and in industrial marketing. He was a staff member of the Office of the Chairman and was a key contributor to the development and writing of the AT&T Divestiture and restructure of AT&T and the Bell System.
Mr. Weisberg is an accomplished speaker and has published articles in a number of highly regarded technical publications. He has published two books: Getting to Yes: Selling IT Projects Internally (IHRIM Press) and Internet Customer Service (Aspen Press), and is on the advisory board of the Customer Service Manger's Newsletter and the Call Center Management Newsletter (both of Aspen Press). He is on the CMP Media IT Technology Advisory Panel, GIGA ExperNet and has been a part-time faculty member of Northeastern University College of Business Administration. Mr. Weisberg received his M.S. in Group and Organizational Dynamics: Applied Behavioral Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his B.S. in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. He has also completed Graduate Education in Biomedical Engineering and Marketing. Mr. Weisberg is fluent in French and Spanish.
